Eliminate Wasteful Spending

Congressman Burton believes that government exists to serve the interests of its citizens - not the other way around. So the best government is the smallest government required to deliver basic services to its citizens.

It's because of this belief that Dan steered to passage the Results Act. The Results Act requires federal agencies to set specific performance goals and to report on their progress- or lack of it- to help ferret out waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government. This saves taxpayers billions of dollars that result from inefficient government policies and procedures.

Dan has also signed a pledge against earmarks.
